Career lawman and entrepreneur announces bid for Pinal County Sheriff

Kevin Cavanaugh, a Maricopa County criminal investigator, has announced his candidacy for Pinal County Sheriff. Kevin, bringing with him 30 years of both law enforcement and business experience, will be running as a Republican.

Kevin is running because he is a better leader, more capable manager, and has far more experience than anyone in the race, Republican or Democrat.

Among Kevin's accomplishments in law enforcement include his work as a Prosecutor's Investigator, Defense Investigator, Sheriff's Deputy, Police Detective, and Chief Internal Affairs Investigator.

Kevin’s career highlights include single-handedly capturing a fugitive wanted by the FBI for acts of Domestic Terrorism and other extraordinary work as an investigator.

Kevin has started, operated, and sold several successful businesses, and would bring that management experience with him to the office of Sheriff.

Kevin’s wife Samai, a Mexican immigrant, encouraged him to run, reminding him that when good men fail to stand, evil and tyranny prevail.

Kevin has a record of standing up against corruption and malfeasance in government, a quality needed for whoever takes over as the top cop in Pinal County, particularly given the corruption charges that have been brought against the current administration. Kevin has handled and accepted the heat that comes from doing the right thing, and that experience has shaped him into the ideal candidate for Pinal County Sheriff.

Kevin has been endorsed by a retired Marine Corps General, Air Force Captain, and a former Pinal County Prosecuting attorney - people who know him well, and can testify to his character and fitness for the job

Kevin's goals are to create a culture in the Sheriff's Office that promotes service, honor, and integrity, and to lift the department to a higher place as one of the top law enforcement agencies in the country.

This message issued by the Committee to Elect Kevin Cavanaugh Sheriff, LLC.

Kevin Cavanaugh becomes the fifth candidate to join the race for Pinal County Sheriff.  Chief Deputy Steve Henry, Kaye Dickson, Mark Lamb and Kevin Taylor are also running for the office.  The office is open as current Sheriff Paul Babeu is running for Congress in CD1.
